Review: Avanti Boutique Hotel on Fuerteventura

Fuerteventura is always a good opportunity to escape the gray everyday life in Germany for a few days and take a vacation by the sea. Especially if you can find cheap flights from Germany.

I chose the Avanti Boutique Hotel in Corralejo on Fuerteventura for a short trip in February. The beautiful blue and white colors, the lovely furnishings and the location right by the sea immediately won me over – at least when I booked online.

Find out in this hotel review whether the Avanti Hotel was also convincing in reality.

Location on Fuerteventura

The Avanti lifestyle hotel is located in the very north of Fuerteventura, in the town of Corralejo. It is around 40 minutes by rental car from the airport via the beautiful route along the east coast, right through the dunes with a view of the sea.

You save a few minutes by driving inland, but then you don’t have such a beautiful view.

I didn’t really like the town of Corralejo itself: Relatively large for a Canary Island, densely built-up with lots of restaurants, stores and bars.

However, the first row of houses by the sea is beautiful – and that’s where the Avanti Boutique Hotel is located. Right next to the hotel is a small sandy beach where you can swim and sunbathe.

Rooms at the Avanti Boutique Hotel

Due to its location right by the sea, some of the 14 rooms offer a fantastic sea view. I was lucky enough to get an Ocean View room with a small balcony and direct sea view.

The room was large and perfectly equipped: In addition to a large bed with a mosquito net, there was a small sitting area with a beautiful Moroccan lamp.

The fridge was well stocked and there was even a small self-service bar with spirits, a fresh lemon and cocktail shaker. Three bottles of wine rounded off the self-service bar.

On top of that, there was a coffee machine with free coffee capsules, bathrobes, beach towels and lots of other little things.

Even from the shower you had a great view of the sea. Some rooms also have their own large terrace. From the penthouse rooms at the top, you have direct access to the beautiful roof terrace.

The roof terrace is freely accessible to all hotel guests and offers a great sea view, a large bar (which was closed during my visit), lots of comfortable loungers and even a whirlpool.

The jacuzzi was decorated with hundreds of small mirrors on the outside and created a great ambience in the sunlight. There are also sheltered seating areas on the roof terrace where you can enjoy a sundowner in the evening.

Avanti Hotel: Breakfast at Rompeolas

Breakfast was included in my room rate and ran from 07:30 to 10:30.

The selection of food and drinks was small and lovely: fresh bread, lots of fruit, different types of cheese and cold meats and warm egg dishes from the menu.

Breakfast is served in the hotel’s restaurant, which is called Rompeolas. The tables by the window offer a direct view of the sea.

In the evening, the restaurant is open not only for hotel guests but also for external visitors and is apparently very popular, so you should definitely reserve a table in advance.

The menu includes fresh fish dishes, various steaks and even a vegetarian paella for two.

My experience at the Avanti Hotel

I was immediately impressed by the Avanti Boutique Hotel on Fuerteventura. The biggest plus point is definitely the location by the sea. But the many lovely little touches and the beautifully furnished rooms also contribute to a great stay.

I particularly liked the roof terrace, where you can chill out for hours in good weather. Incidentally, the hotel is adults only.

This article reflects my personal impressions. We booked and paid for the hotel as normal. The hotel did not know that we were writing an article about our stay.
