Automating garden irrigation sounds like a real game changer, doesn’t it? That’s exactly what the Eve Aqua promises.
With this smart watering control, you can water your plants conveniently via app or voice command. And the best thing? It’s perfectly integrated into Apple Home.

I have tested the Eve Aqua extensively and share my experiences here – including all its strengths, weaknesses and whether it’s worth buying.
First impression: compact, robust and modern
When I unpacked the Eve Aqua, I immediately noticed its simple but modern design. It’s not too big and blends unobtrusively into the garden.
The workmanship looks high quality and the housing is weatherproof, so no need to worry about rain or sun. However, I don’t know why the small technology has to be in such a large housing…

In addition to the device itself, the scope of delivery includes two AA batteries and an adapter for common hose couplings. The instructions are easy to understand and I was able to get started straight away.
Installation: Quick and easy
The set-up was really straightforward:
- Insert the batteries – open the flap, insert the batteries, done.
- Download the Eve app – The app is available free of charge from the Apple App Store.
- Pair device – activate Bluetooth, open Eve app, add device.
- Connect to the tap – Simply screw on, fits most commercially available connections.
All in all, it only took a few minutes to set up and I was able to create my first watering plans straight away.
Functions: Smart features that make everyday life easier
App control and schedules
With the Eve app, you can start or stop watering, monitor water consumption and create precise schedules.
Up to seven different times per day are possible, and best of all, they are stored directly on the device, so Eve Aqua works even without an active connection to your iPhone.
Voice control with Siri
Super practical: you can control the Eve Aqua with Siri. A simple “Hey Siri, water the garden” is all it takes to get the water flowing.

Thread support for better range
If you have a HomePod mini or the new Apple TV, you can use the Thread function. This makes the connection more stable and reacts faster than with pure Bluetooth.
Practical test: How Eve Aqua performs in everyday life
I’ve been testing the Eve Aqua for a few weeks now, and here are my experiences:
- The schedules work perfectly and the tap opens and closes at exactly the right time.
- The remote control works great and I was able to change the watering even when I was on vacation (assuming HomePod was the control center).
- Water consumption is manageable and thanks to the app I can see exactly how much water has been used.
- The valve mechanism makes a slight clicking noise, but that doesn’t really bother me.
Compatibility: More than just a smart tap
A big plus point: the Eve Aqua can be combined with an irrigation set from Amazon. With a distributor, hoses and sprinklers, you can easily water your entire garden.

Improvements compared to the predecessor
If you already have an older model, there’s good news: The new generation of the Eve Aqua has been improved in a number of ways:
- Quieter operation – The valve noise is now much quieter.
- Better connectivity – more stable connection thanks to thread integration.
- Greater compatibility – More irrigation systems are supported.
Is the Eve Aqua worth it?
Yes, if you are an Apple user and want to water your garden smartly. It’s easy to use, the app works reliably and the ability to create schedules is a real relief.
