Review: Michelberger Hotel in Berlin Friedrichshain

Berlin is a city that not only impresses with its history, but also with its creative and unconventional spirit.

The Michelberger Hotel embodies exactly this charm and offers you unique accommodation that is more than just a place to sleep. It’s all about experiences, hospitality and, above all, the feeling of being in a very special place.

Rooms at the Michelberger Hotel

The Michelberger offers a variety of rooms to suit every guest. The “Cosy” rooms are perfect for single travelers or couples who like it cozy.

If you need more space, the “Loft” and “Overlook” rooms not only offer a spacious ambience, but also beautiful views of the city.

For larger groups, there is the “Band” room, which can accommodate up to six people – ideal for creative minds who want to perform in the city or simply relax.

Each room is individually designed, with a minimalist design that still feels homely. Wood paneling and natural materials create a warm atmosphere, while modern accents round off the overall concept.

If you like it luxurious, you should take a look at the “Hideout” or the “BigOne” – comfort is a top priority here. The Hideout rooms, which I unfortunately didn’t see in person, even have a private sauna.

For all other hotel guests, there is also the opportunity to sweat in winter. A barrel sauna is set up in the inner courtyard.

This courtyard is located in the center of the hotel and is directly accessible from many rooms. In winter, apart from the sauna, the courtyard is rather quiet and uncomfortable.

In summer, however, it comes to life: You can eat and drink outside or simply enjoy the beautiful weather.

Michelberger Restaurant

The restaurant at the Michelberger is an experience in itself. It attaches great importance to sustainability and regionality. Many of the ingredients come directly from the hotel’s own Michelberger Farm in the Spreewald, which gives the culinary experience a special touch.

The breakfast buffet offers homemade jams, freshly baked bread and a selection of hot and cold dishes made from regional ingredients.

Particularly noteworthy is the brunch, which is served until 2 pm at weekends. Here you can enjoy local delicacies such as fresh vegetables and meat from trusted suppliers. The coffee comes from a local roastery, and tea lovers will also get their money’s worth.

In the evening, the restaurant transforms into a place for relaxed dinners with friends or colleagues. The menu offers a selection of small and large dishes that are ideal for sharing.

We particularly recommend the sourdough bread with butter, the smoked potato with pickled vegetables or the gnocchi made from pumpkin polenta.

The bar

The Michelberger Hotel’s wine bar is the perfect place to round off the evening. It opens daily from 5 pm and offers an extensive wine list as well as handmade spirits from the hotel’s own distillery MXPSM.

Whether you’re alone or in company, the bar invites you to enjoy sociable evenings with good music and conversation. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax after a long day in the city, this is the ideal spot.

Conference and meeting rooms

The Michelberger Hotel not only offers space for vacationers, but is also a popular choice for meetings and events. The Whiskey Room in particular is ideal for intimate dinner events, interviews or workshops.

With its wall cladding made from recycled wooden panels and cozy furnishings, it offers a charming yet professional ambience.

The studio, which is flooded with light thanks to its large windows, is available for larger events. The room is perfect for presentations and meetings. With a marble table in the middle and its own small kitchen, you can hold meetings here in style.

The backstage room offers over 90 square meters of space for conferences, workshops or festive dinner events. The half-height wall creates an open atmosphere, but also offers the option of partitioning off an area.

The surrounding area: Berlin Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg

The Michelberger Hotel is located in the heart of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, one of Berlin’s most creative and lively districts.

The area is known for its diverse culture, alternative scene and lively art and music scene. The famous East Side Gallery, the RAW complex and numerous cafés, bars and clubs are located in the immediate vicinity (approx. 5 minutes on foot).

Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg is a paradise for explorers who want to experience authentic Berlin, with street art, flea markets and an international culinary offering that leaves nothing to be desired.

Michelberger Farm

Not far from Berlin, in the Spreewald, lies the Michelberger Farm, a centerpiece of the hotel’s sustainable concept.

The food for the restaurant is produced here, creating a living ecosystem that not only regenerates agriculture, but is also a place for guests.

Whether for a day trip or an event such as a wedding – the farm is a highlight for nature lovers and gourmets alike.
