For a long time, I searched for a cordless vacuum cleaner that wasn’t as expensive as the top models from Dyson but still delivered good suction and filtration performance. I finally found the Pure One X from Tineco. I’ve been using this cordless vacuum regularly for a year now, and here are my experiences.
Cordless Vacuum with HEPA Filter
As an allergy sufferer with atopic dermatitis, filtration performance was as important to me as suction power. What’s the point of vacuuming up dust if you’re just spreading it back into the air? This model features several filters in the dust container, including an additional HEPA filter, similar to those found in air purifiers. According to the manufacturer, this filter captures dust particles as small as 0.3 micrometers. The HEPA filter can be easily washed for cleaning.
Strong Suction Power with Tineco Pure One X Brushes
The most important feature of a cordless vacuum is probably its suction power. The Tineco Pure One X has two modes: In the standard “Auto” setting, the suction power adjusts automatically, thanks to an integrated dust sensor at the front of the nozzle. In this setting, the battery lasts the longest—around 40-50 minutes in my experience.
In the “Max” setting, you get full suction power. There’s a noticeable difference, which is useful for tougher dirt, but the battery only lasts about ten minutes in this mode.
The multifunctional brush and mite brush have rotating bristles that pick up much more dirt than regular vacuum cleaners without brushes. However, the downside is that these brushes tend to get tangled with hair, which you have to remove every few months.
Many Brushes and Accessories
One of the reasons I chose the Tineco Pure One X was its wide range of accessories: Besides the vacuum itself, the package includes a large multifunctional brush with LEDs and a long handle, a mite brush for sofas, a crevice tool for small corners (perfect for vacuuming up spiders), and an attachment with long fabric bristles for dusting electronics or upholstery.
It also comes with a charging station that can be mounted on the wall. The station has slots for all the accessories, so you have everything within reach.
Emptying the Tineco Pure One X
The biggest downside of a bagless cordless vacuum cleaner is probably emptying the dust container. With the push of a button, you can dispose of the contents directly into a trash can. However, this process creates a lot of dust, and you often have to pull out larger clumps of hair or dust by hand.
With a bagged vacuum cleaner, emptying is much cleaner, but it’s also more expensive because you have to regularly buy replacement bags.
LED Lighting and Wi-Fi
I admit, the LED lights on the large multifunctional brush look cool and do a decent job of illuminating darker corners in the house.
However, I find the Wi-Fi function completely unnecessary. You can adjust the suction power and check the battery level via the corresponding app, but both can be done directly on the device, so I used this feature once and never again.
Conclusion on the Tineco Pure One X
After a year, I’m still very satisfied with the device: The suction power is excellent, and the build quality is high. The battery still works great, which is important since this model doesn’t have a replaceable battery.
As an allergy sufferer, the HEPA filter gives me peace of mind, and I don’t have to sneeze constantly while vacuuming. Cleaning the device is a bit more involved than with bagged vacuum cleaners, but you save on the recurring costs of buying bags.
