A flat inner tube can quickly ruin your day, especially if there is no spare tube or workshop nearby. This is exactly where the tube repair sealant from Slime comes into play.

What is the Slime sealant?
Slime is a liquid tire sealant that automatically seals small holes up to 3 mm. The green, viscous substance is filled into the inner tube and spreads evenly while riding.
As soon as air escapes, the Fibro-Seal technology is activated and closes the hole. This means that you can continue riding without having to change the inner tube immediately.

That sounds promising, but how does the product perform in practice?
Application: How the Slime sealant works
The application is pleasingly simple. Even if you are not a professional mechanic, you can get your bike back on the road in just a few minutes.
- Remove the valve core: The tool supplied will help you do this.
- Deflate the tires: All the air must be removed before you fill in the sealant.
- Fill with Slime: Shake the bottle well and squeeze the recommended amount into the tire.
- Reinsert the valve: You can then inflate the tire.
- Turn the wheel: To ensure that the sealant is evenly distributed, you should turn the wheel a few times or ride it briefly.
After these steps, your tire is sealed and immediately ready for use again.
My experience with the Slime sealant
I tested the sealant both in city traffic and on off-road tours. I noticed a few things in particular:
- Easy to use: Filling takes just a few minutes. You can even do it easily on the go.
- Immediate effect: I had a small puncture in the tire, which the sealant sealed immediately. No air loss, no stress.
- Long-term test: The tire was still leak-proof after more than a year
Is Slime worth it?
