With the latest software update from Sonos, you can not only enjoy movies in Dolby Atmos but also play music in HD, Ultra HD and Dolby Atmos.
These songs are less compressed and should therefore sound even better and more natural.
The first provider to bring Ultra HD to Sonos speakers is Amazon Music.
To try it out, I have integrated a playlist that only contains songs in Ultra HD.
New HD icons in Sonos app
You can check in the Sonos app (S2) whether the music is really being played in the new format.
Under the cover it says either HD (lossless 16-bit stream) or Ultra HD (lossless 24-bit stream).
You can find out which Sonos devices support the new music format in this table under the Hi-Res column.
